Dr. Dennis Gibsons trip to Ecuador
itinerary and prayer list:
He was a successful businessman making a mid-life
career change, now studying at Wheaton College graduate school to
become a pastor. One Sunday morning in 1994 after we had presented
some material from our Family Living Seminar to the Wheaton Bible
Church Hispanic congregation, he approached us. He introduced himself
to us as Patricio Salas, from Guayaquil, Ecuador. People in his
church needed to hear the material we were presenting. Would we
come to Ecuador? We did -- in September of 1994 and again in 1999.
Now Patricio has arranged for Dennis to teach
his Vitality Therapy counseling techniques in Guayaquil from November
23rd through December 9th. With his excellent command of both English
and Spanish, Patricio has translated the Spanish materials available
on this web site.
Here is the daily schedule for this trip:
Friday, November 23rd - late arrival.
Monday, November 26th - Friday, November 30th
- 40-hour Vitality Therapy seminar at the Universidad Cristiana
Lation Americana. The seminar will be attended by mostly University
professors, students and Psychology professionals. The audience
will be mostly secular.
Saturday, December 1st - 8-hour intensive Vitality
Therapy seminar at Colegio Aleman. This seminar will be attended
by high school teachers and parents of teenagers.
Sunday, December 2nd - Sermon on FAMILY LIFE at
the Iglesia Alianza Del Centenario during both the 9:00am service
and the 11:00am service.
Monday, December 3rd - Friday, December 7th -
Two 20-hour Vitality Therapy seminars at the Iglesia Alianza Del
Centerario. One 4-hour group each morning and one 4-hour group each
evening. The audience will be mostly Christian consisting of pastors
and church members from several Christian denominations and groups.
Saturday, December 8th - 9:00am - Noon - Tips
on Counseling presented at the Haggai Institute Leadership Seminar
to a group of pastors and church leaders.
Sunday, December 9th - return home.
Christian organizations will be putting
on workshops for secular audiences featuring Dennis' teaching of
psychological counseling. Pray that God may use his unique credentials
as a North American scholar to gain a hearing for the Good News.
May he package biblical principles within his counseling training
in a way that sparkles with attractive vitality.
Pray that God may give birth through Dennis to
words just right for audiences to whom the name of Jesus Christ
has become stale with centuries of lifeless tradition. Pray that
he might surprise them with the goodness of the Good News!
